El Jannah, Smithfield - Review

Charcoal chicken isn’t usually anything to write home about... Unless that chicken is from El Jannah!

This Lebanese chicken franchise has locations all over Sydney, but we keep coming back to El Jannah’s Smithfield store for their lightning fast service and epic food.

El Jannah's Smithfield outpost offers dine-in, takeaway and drive thru options for hungry chicken lovers. With their efficient industrial setup, staff are equipped to churn out food hot and fast. The drive thru line frequently snakes around the carpark and turnover is high, which means the food is always fresh and delicious.

El Jannah’s menu is filled with delicious options including chicken, rolls and Lebanese sides. Not sure what to order? We recommend first timers start with a half or quarter chicken plate. You’ll be treated to a juicy piece of charcoal chicken, pink and green pickles, Lebanese bread, and their famous garlic sauce. These plates can be a little messy to eat, but they’re great value! Other things we can’t get enough of are their hot chips (with plenty of chicken salt), chicken roll (chicken, garlic and pickles) and fattoush salad. Plus, their new crispy chicken burger puts other fast food chains to shame, filled with perfectly crispy fried chicken.

While we love their chicken here at El Jannah, we can’t deny that the star of the show is their famous garlic sauce. This isn’t any ordinary garlic sauce! It’s a secret recipe, packed full of flavour. We’ve tried many times to recreate the recipe ourselves, but it will never be as good.

All in all, if you’re in the mood for chicken and Lebanese flavours, El Jannah is the only place to be. We love the Smithfield franchise, but honestly any location will be good. Make sure you come with an empty stomach, you’ll need all the room you can get!
