El Patron, Gregory Hills - Review

If you’re after a spot close to home for the perfect night out, look no further than El Patron in Gregory Hills.

With South American flavours, indulgent cocktails and live entertainment, El Patron brings all the best bits of Sydney’s city nightlife to the Macarthur suburbs.

Walking into El Patron, we were greeted with a lively atmosphere, complete with both indoor and outdoor seating options. We visited on a Saturday night for dinner, where we indulged in a selection of dishes including:
- Hot Saganaki Cheese
- Prosciutto and Melon
- Sydney Rock Oysters
- Soft Shell Crab Tacos
- Charred Sourdough
- Crispy Chicken Bao Buns
- Hiramasa Kingfish Ceviche
- Hervey Bay Scallops
- 1kg MB4+ Beef Rib Eye

The menu highlights for us were the kingfish ceviche, prosciutto and melon, charred sourdough and DIY bao buns. And of course, how could we forget the MB4+ steak, served under a cloche of smoke and grilled to smoky perfection!

Food isn’t the only star of the show here at El Patron - the restaurant has an impressive bar along with expert bartenders to put on a show. We tried some of their signature cocktails like the El Patron, Pablo’s Passion, lychee rose martini and house margarita. All the cocktails were sweet and refreshing, great for a summer’s night.

Once the dinner rush is over, El Patron transforms into a destination for nightlife. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming location, the team here knows a thing or two about entertainment. With superstar music personalities like DJ Havana Brown and Kid Ink on the roster, this is definitely a place to check out if you like to party!

El Patron is open Thursday-Sunday until late, with bottomless food and drink options on Sundays. The team can also cater for functions and special events.

Overall, we enjoyed our experience at El Patron in Gregory Hills. We’ll be the first to admit we aren’t the biggest party people (anymore!), but we loved the fact that we could let our hair down like we were living it up in the CBD, without the hassle of organising an expensive taxi home.
