Kanzo Sushi, Parramatta - Review
There’s no shortage of Japanese restaurants in Sydney, but Kanzo is one of the best in the West.
Hidden on the outskirts of Parramatta CBD, Kanzo has a simple wooden restaurant fit-out, with adorable cartoon sushi posters lining the walls. The sushi combinations served at Kanzo aren’t the typical Japanese offerings - think Aussie fusion, with lots of toppings and delicious sauces.
If you’re after something quick and simple, our go-to dish at Kanzo would be the tuna and avocado salad. We love the great mix of fresh tuna cubes and cooked minced tuna, avocado and shredded cabbage, all topped with creamy sesame dressing. This salad is a big winner in our eyes - light, but still satisfying.
For those who are wanting a true Japanese/Aussie fusion, we can’t go past the cheesy chicken roll - think melted cheese, saucy chicken schnitzel and a slight smokey flavour from the blowtorching. Just make sure you eat this one while it’s hot and fresh, otherwise you’ll find the cheese starts to harden!
And our absolute favourite at Kanzo - the grilled salmon roll. You can opt to replace the usual prawn filling with cooked tuna and avocado, which is a total game-changer. Nothing beats a huge sushi roll topped with saucy grilled salmon!
Kanzo is a busy lunchtime spot for workers in the local area, so be prepared for the lunch rush on weekdays. Dinner time is equally as busy, so get in early!
