Xing Fu Tang, Sydney - Review

Taiwanese chain Xing Fu Tang is famous across the globe for their freshly made boba, premium drinks and cool aesthetics.

With 2 locations in Sydney CBD - one along George Street and another in Chinatown - Xing Fu Tang is one of the city's newest destinations for milk tea.

For a delicious sweet treat, we can't go past Xing Fu Tang's signature brown sugar boba milk. And if you're feeling extra fancy, go for the gold leaf version! One of the things that makes Xing Fu Tang stand out from the milk tea crowd is all the theatrics that come with the preparation of their drinks. You can watch your drink come to life with a swirl of brown sugar from the copper boba pot, the pouring of the milk foam and the torching of the brulee sugar crust. You'll be instructed by staff to stir your drink 18 times - this is the optimal time for all the sugar to mix!

We've had our fair share of boba drinks, and we must say that you can definitely taste the difference between other places and Xing Fu Tang. The boba here are chewy and flavourful which can't be said for most tea shops around town. The quality of ingredients makes a huge difference to the taste! Watching the whole process of how your drinks are made is fascinating, and we think it adds to the premium aesthetic of the brand.

Aside from the brown sugar boba, there are plenty of other options on the menu like fruit tea and soft serve icecream. Another fun highlight at Xing Fu Tang is their fortune boxes. Once you're finished with your tea, pick yourself a stick and find the corresponding box on the wall to uncover a fortune!

Overall, we can confirm that Xing Fu Tang Syndey is worth all the hype. When we're in Sydney City, it's the only place we go to get tea. If you haven't experienced Xing Fu Tang, we would recommend giving it a go!

UPDATE: On our recent visits to Xing Fu Tang, we have found the brown sugar brulee to unfortunately be burnt… we hope they fix this issue soon!
