YX Mini Hotpot, Sydney - Review

Yummy spread of meat for Chinese YX Mini Hotpot Restaurant

Delicious food is awesome, but when it’s served in a fairytale setting - that’s a special meal! If you fancy being transported to a Chinese wonderland while you slurp down your hotpot, get yourself to YX Mini Hotpot in Eastwood for a meal you won’t forget anytime soon.

The guys here at YX Mini Hotpot have converted a boring space into a breathtaking location with picture perfect Chinese decor. You’ll feel like you’re eating in a traditional Chinese alleyway, complete with painted clouds in the sky and a water feature running through the dining space.

Once you’ve picked your jaw up off the floor from gawking at the atmosphere, sit yourself down and get ordering! Everyone gets their own hot pot, and you’re able to get 2 broth flavours per person which is a nice touch. Each table has an iPad for you to order your dishes, and the staff bring your plates out promptly. Choose from a variety of meat, vegetables and noodles. There’s also a self-serve sauce bar with all the ingredients to make your own dipping sauces (sesame oil/soy sauce/chilli/garlic etc).

We recommend ordering the large meat platter and a plate of the fish - this was enough meat for two people. The meat is high quality and comes arranged beautifully on the platters.

We found the overall experience here at YX Mini Hotpot fun and delicious. The food is a bit pricey, but we think it’s justified since you’re paying for quality and ambience. They’ve opened up another branch in Haymarket, which we plan on trying soon!
